WE WORK IN CLOSE WITH GOVERNMENT ORGANIZATIONS, ENVIRONMENTAL NGOS AND LOCAL COMMUNITIES TO ENSURE THE SUCCESS OF OUR EFFORTS OF MARINE CONSERVATION AND MANAGEMENT.
The MPA network is implemented by a consortium of four NGOs, in close partnership with the national and regional government.

Fauna & Flora (F&F) was the first international wildlife conservation organization to be created in the world. Its mission is to conserve endangered species and ecosystems around the world by choosing solutions that are sustainable, science-based and that consider human needs. F&F has extensive experience in organizational capacity building and protected area development and management and leads the consortium responsible for project implementation.

Príncipe Foundation is a local NGO which promotes sustainable development and conservation initiatives on the island of Príncipe. Its areas of intervention include: conservation, environmental education, economic development and community engagement.

Oikos - Cooperação e Desenvolvimento (Cooperation and Development) is a Portuguese NGO that has been working in São Tomé and Príncipe since 2015, where it focuses on projects related to biodiversity conservation, environmental policy and the strengthening of local institutions. Oikos focuses on promoting harmony between productive systems, human communities and natural resource management, enhancing mitigation and adaptation to climate change, resilience and restoration of natural systems and biodiversity, ensuring the dignified subsistence of communities that directly depend on biodiverse ecosystems.

MARAPA is a national small-scale fishing NGO established in 1999 and is renowned for its experience in supporting the fishing sector in São Tomé and Príncipe. Created by fisheries technicians, marine biologists and development agents, MARAPA maintains this multidisciplinary approach within its team, in order to have a global vision of the archipelago's problems. Its actions are aimed at protecting the territory's marine and coastal habitats and ecosystems, co-managing fisheries resources and supporting stakeholders in the fishing sector.

WildAid Marine is an international WildAid Programme focused on designing and applying effective enforcement solutions to prevent illegal fishing and strengthen the protection of priority marine areas for the benefit of endangered wildlife, marine ecosystems, fisheries and coastal communities.
